E In The Trees

E In The Trees at daybreak camp

The Elder board of Elevation Church has decided to begin to offer a covid-conscious, socially-distanced, outdoor in-person ministry opportunity beginning in July! This new addition to our ministry will provide opportunities to meet live in person or online.  This additional service is called “E in the Trees” and will provide a unique opportunity to worship and hear God’s word in a beautiful outdoor setting in Felton!

While there are many differing opinions on Covid-19 and varying levels of familiarity and understanding of the science, our goal as an Elder board is to lead in unity in the same way we want to encourage the body to act towards one another.  However, acting in unity does not mean that everyone is the same.

It has been an interesting few weeks and we have the promise of at least several more ahead of us! As of this morning, it’ll last until May 3. During this time things have changed and shifted to online to meet and congregate.
As the Kid’s Ministry and Mike (an elder) talk about what will work for our kiddos during this time, it appears reasonable and efficient to use the online opportunities. The leaders of the Kid’s Ministry would like to highlight one online resource in particular since it has so many types of activities that parents might choose from to engage their kids anytime during the week if and when they choose to. Elevation does want to encourage you the parents to make time for kids church at home with your little disciples. You can Watch a video, tell a bible story, discuss and ask questions. Also, pray with them and over them, and sing a worship song or two. Keep Jesus at the center in this time.
The site, Ministry To Children ( https://ministry-to-children.com/) is  so great the Kid’s Ministry leaders think that it might be the “new curriculum” we have been looking for. There is a weekly lesson that conforms to current events. An example is that last Sunday the taught about The Last Supper, this week is Palm Sunday and then, of course, Easter.
Did I mention that it is free?
We invite parents to explore the site and give us some feedback. We’d like to focus on fun, games and creativity rather than “work” as they have been doing with “homeschooling”.

Also, we would like to give you another other resource for your kids focused on God.

Here are a few links we found that may be helpful for homeschooling resources.

Very Well Family -This site has a list of a bunch of good resources!

A Personal Note From Chuckk

A Personal Note From Chuckk

A Personal Note From Chuckk
Hi E Family,
Wow! lots of craziness is happening around the world and here in our mountains. I know that this uncertainty and change can cause a lot of anxiety – I am praying for you. As pastor I want to send you a personal note from my heart. God is on the throne and at work in and through all this.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful”- Hebrews 10:23.
Jesus’ Church is unstoppable, He said that ‘the gates of corona will not overcome it’ …or something like that… Elevation church services are NOT postponed nor are they canceled; they have changed venue. Being “the church out of the bowl” we are currently in the air and on the air as opposed to in the Felton Music Hall. This is a temporary move and when community leaders and public health experts give us the all-clear we’ll all celebrate together again in person!
Presently, gathering on Facebook Live on Sundays @ 10am is our current best way to connect as Elevation, and connecting is VITAL for believers – even more so in troubled times. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us
”Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
I know some of us don’t use Facebook, some may even detest the idea of meeting virtually. At this time, I’m really encouraging you to see Facebook Live as the primary way we can stay in touch, meet together with the Word weekly, and even use it for a conduit for fellowship, prayer and worship. It’s not perfect or optimal but it brings us together at this time.
If you typically shun Facebook please consider getting an account temporarily so that you can continue to meet with us as a church family at 10:00am on Sundays. We’ll be meeting this week and back in our series through John, don’t miss it! Find us by searching Facebook for ElevationSC.

The Elders have been in contact and will meet next week (online) to work on more ways to connect our body, and how to best meet the various needs of the individuals in our church and the greater community. I’m engaged in video meetings and email conversations with a bunch of pastors globally right now. We are working together to find the best practices for church gatherings, the mission, and benevolence in our communities. God is at work in bringing His church together in new ways!!!
Stay healthy, seek ways to bless those around you, open your Bible, and pray in the extra time God may be giving you in your home. Think creatively and share your thoughts with all of us. Seek out what unique OPPORTUNIES God make be providing! Be liquid and be hope-filled.
I love you and Jesus loves you even more,
Your Pastor,
