Elevations Year End letter 2020

Elevation’s Year-End Letter for 2020

Elevations Year End letter 2020

Hello Elevation family,

2020 has been a WILD year filled with great ministry in the midst of unexpected turns and lots of changes. COVID-19, unrest in race relations, deep division and anger in political issues, the terrible local fires, and the list goes on. Jesus has been large in our church and we have weathered the storms of change together, with his help!

Detour To Daybreak Camp

The bridge to Daybreak Camp is being fixed, so we need to take a detour to E in The Trees (our outdoor, in-person service).
Please enter by the horse pasture on Mount Hermon Road and follow the road to Daybreak’s kitchen and bathroom area. Then you can turn right towards our normal parking area.
We will have our signs out to help you find your way.
Please see this map for details.

Lightning Fire Fund

lightning fire fund
SPONSORED THRU ELEVATION CHURCH, FELTON CA

As a church, we desire to help our neighbors in need as a result of the CZU lightning Fire Complex in the Santa Cruz mountains. The Bible teaches in James 2:14-18 that faith is tied to our actions when we know of people in need. Many people have lost homes, vehicles, pets, livelihood, and this fire has even taken a man’s life.

To date 921 homes have been lost, that number will go up as more areas are inspected. 85,000+ acres have burned. Elevation would like to be a helping hand to those in need. Would you pray about giving a special gift to this fund? As always, we ask that you not divert any normal offerings you give to Elevation so that we can continue to meet our monthly financial commitments.

All funds donated will go towards those in need, none towards the operation of the church. The Elders at Elevation will oversee the distribution of all funds. Any funds left at the end of June 2021, will be donated to Valley Churches United for ongoing relief efforts in the Mountains

May God bless you and yours
Elevation Elders: Chuckk Gerwig, Ken Schulze, Mike Snyder
If you would like to donate please visit elevationsc.org/give-online.

E In The Trees at daybreak camp

E In The Trees

E In The Trees at daybreak camp

The Elder board of Elevation Church has decided to begin to offer a covid-conscious, socially-distanced, outdoor in-person ministry opportunity beginning in July! This new addition to our ministry will provide opportunities to meet live in person or online.  This additional service is called “E in the Trees” and will provide a unique opportunity to worship and hear God’s word in a beautiful outdoor setting in Felton!

While there are many differing opinions on Covid-19 and varying levels of familiarity and understanding of the science, our goal as an Elder board is to lead in unity in the same way we want to encourage the body to act towards one another.  However, acting in unity does not mean that everyone is the same.

kids' ministry resources during shelter-in-place

Kid’s Ministry during Shelter-In-Place

kids' ministry resources during shelter-in-place
It has been an interesting few weeks and we have the promise of at least several more ahead of us! As of this morning, it’ll last until May 3. During this time things have changed and shifted to online to meet and congregate.

As the Kid’s Ministry and Mike (an elder) talk about what will work for our kiddos during this time, it appears reasonable and efficient to use the online opportunities. The leaders of the Kid’s Ministry would like to highlight one online resource in particular since it has so many types of activities that parents might choose from to engage their kids anytime during the week if and when they choose to. Elevation does want to encourage you the parents to make time for kids church at home with your little disciples. You can Watch a video, tell a bible story, discuss and ask questions. Also, pray with them and over them, and sing a worship song or two. Keep Jesus at the center in this time.

The site, Ministry To Children ( https://ministry-to-children.com/) is  so great the Kid’s Ministry leaders think that it might be the “new curriculum” we have been looking for. There is a weekly lesson that conforms to current events. An example is that last Sunday the taught about The Last Supper, this week is Palm Sunday and then, of course, Easter.

Did I mention that it is free?

We invite parents to explore the site and give us some feedback. We’d like to focus on fun, games and creativity rather than “work” as they have been doing with “homeschooling”.

Also, we would like to give you another other resource for your kids focused on God.

Here are a few links we found that may be helpful for homeschooling resources.

Very Well Family -This site has a list of a bunch of good resources!
