E In The Trees

E In The Trees at daybreak camp

The Elder board of Elevation Church has decided to begin to offer a covid-conscious, socially-distanced, outdoor in-person ministry opportunity beginning in July! This new addition to our ministry will provide opportunities to meet live in person or online.  This additional service is called “E in the Trees” and will provide a unique opportunity to worship and hear God’s word in a beautiful outdoor setting in Felton!

While there are many differing opinions on Covid-19 and varying levels of familiarity and understanding of the science, our goal as an Elder board is to lead in unity in the same way we want to encourage the body to act towards one another.  However, acting in unity does not mean that everyone is the same.

1 Corinthians 12:15-26 New International Version (NIV)

15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Each of us is in a position of determining how to handle current events for our families and those with whom we are in close contact.  There are many among us that are or have contact with those who are more vulnerable. While we intend to offer the option to meet in person we will continue to have “E in the Ether” services available online on Facebook weekly for those who chose to remain at home at this time.  These two service options will feature the same sermon but allow people to choose where meeting is best for them and those in their household. We encourage everyone to consider for themselves the risks and to refrain from judgement of the choices of others, regardless of their decision to join an in-person meeting or to continue attending remotely.  We should offer one another grace and err on the side of caution for those who do choose to meet together. This same spirit of grace and unity should apply to home groups also, who may also meet in person but are encouraged to take similar precautions.

The “E in the Trees”, live service will meet at Daybreak Camp

  • Meeting at 10 am, starting Sunday, July 5th
  • 6676 Rose Acres Ln, Felton, CA 95018
  • There will be a restroom available for urgent needs, but please try to use the restroom at home.
  • Although we will be outdoors, we will continue to practice social distancing and keep family groups six feet apart. This includes the parking lot and the seating arrangements.
  • Please bring face coverings
  • Avoid direct contact (handshakes, hugs, high fives, etc.)
  • If you are ill please stay home and join our online services.

Regardless of where we worship, we worship the One True God together as a single body.  We look forward to seeing some of you in person and love all of you.

In Christ, The Elders of Elevation Church
